Celebrate Jesus this Saturday at Midinght!

I'm just playing with this idea, but wouldn't it be awesome to go out to the park at midnight on Saturday and celebrate Jesus' birth with anyone we bump into there? We could just walk around making a lot of noise and handing out some kind of gifts to people. I think this would be really cool. We do stuff like that for New Years or even Mardi Gras. We should all be excited about Jesus birth, but for those people who are in such a hopeless state that they are in the park looking for sex or drugs at midnight on Christmas eve, Jesus' birth has an immdeiately critical importance. Does that make sense? What does it mean if you are getting high, selling yourself, or just on the prowl at midnight on Christmas eve? Among other things, it probably means that you have no family to hang out with that next day. It probably means that the pain you feel on the average day is probably more acute on this particular day. Celebrating Jesus in church is cool, but doesn't it seem like there might be some added meaning and relevance to celebrating his birthday with the people he seemed to have the softest heart for? Somebody help me here. I'm trying to flesh this out. How can I take this sentiment into action? How can I celebrate Jesus' birth with my neighbors in the park in a way that will bless them? Does anyone want to join me?!!? Please email me or leave a comment. I'm looking for some input!! Thanks.

I wish I could join you! A walk-about on Christmas eve sounds like something that could really touch someone's life. And this is how great movements start - a couple of people saying, hey, wouldnt it be great if...

I sent that post out in an email to some of my friends here in the neighborhood and I have gotten several responses. I think there will be about 5 or so of us going out. I'm sure I'll post about it afterwards. Thanks for reading!
