His mercies are new.

I'm lying awake like a loser at 1:30am watching the snow fall outside my window. There are few things that rival the beauty of fresh snow. To me, snow has always been kind of like this great equalizer. No matter what ghetto run-down neighborhood you live in, everything looks beautiful in the snow. The trash is covered, the sidewalk canyons are hidden, and the ugly cars are buried. It helps me imagine the Kingdom of God and a world without sin. I will wake up in the morning and there will be footprints and tire tracks. By afternoon there will be salty, dirty slush. But for now, this neighborhood is perfect.

hey... when i was in philly, the rain would have the same affect on me... it just washed everything clean and it was beautiful. Glad to hear others have the same type of experiences there! God is SOOOO creative in covering the junk in the world... if only for a moment, for the sake of his kids!
