Free Mumia

You can catch, for free, the first chapter of the new book "Murdered by Mumia" at Michael Smirconish's website. The book, which hits shelves today, takes a look at the most prominent anti-death penalty case in the US. Written by Smirconish and Maureen Faulkner, the widow of slain police officer Danny Faulkner, the book attempts to cut through the nonsense that has been created to try to win this case in the court of public opinion. I've looked very superficially into this case and it seems pretty clear that Mumia Abu-Jamal killed Danny Faulkner. I'm looking forward to getting my hands on a copy of this book.

On the bright side, all of the authors' proceeds from the sale of this book will go to a nonprofit that Mrs. Faulkner created to benefit the education of the children of murder victims in Philadelphia. An article in today's Daily News notes that so far, $170,000 has already been raised.
