Nutter may cut $21 million in funding to Philadelphia Safe and Sound

Philadelphia Safe and Sound funds many youth programs with City money, including Ayuda's after school and summer camp programs. It looks like the Street administration was doing some fiscal funny business to keep the Safe and Sound pot full and Nutter is taking a close look at cutting the money flow.

How badly would this hurt us? Ayuda's budget includes $138,828 from Safe and Sound for the current fiscal year. That's 36% of our budget.

They're supposed to email tonight to say who's getting cut and what's happening where. Either way, I think we're going to be okay. At the end of the day, God is the one who makes this place run, not the Mayor.

For the record, I appreciate the Mayor's apparent attempt to clean up the books at City Hall.
