I Would Make More $$ as a Volunteer

Dean Cowles points out that the IRS values volunteers $18.77 per hour, or almost $38k a year, considerably more than myself and many other nonprofit people get paid. So if I quit my job and just work as a volunteer, is there any kind of glitch in the matrix that will net me $38k? That would be awesome.
