Rendell signs death warrant for convicted Hunting Park native

Gov. Rendell yesterday signed a death warrant for a North Philadelphia man convicted of murder in the 1999 slayings of two men in separate attacks.
Bernard Cousar, 28, of the Hunting Park section of the city, was convicted of killing Luis Santos, 21, of West Chester, on April 5, 1999, and William Townes, 24, of North Philadelphia, three weeks later, on April 26.
Cousar, an inmate at Graterford Prison, is scheduled to die by lethal injection Oct. 7. - Wire reports
